Bridget
and Renee wouldn't hang. Hugh Grant,
Colin Firth and Renee Zellweger will all be in Leicester Square to
tread the red carpet. Renee told us she's a bit tired of the Bridget
comparisons although she admits there are some minor similarities: "I think
I'm a little bit more of a realist, but very much like her in the fact that
I'm a hopeless romantic." "And I'm ever optimistic, to the point where I may
seem naïve sometimes." "I have a different way of keeping track of what I'm
doing, so to speak." "We have different hang-outs, that's for sure!". Julia
Roberts has been talking to Oprah Winfrey about expecting twins.
This interview took place before Julia was reportedly rushed to hospital after
experiencing a series of early contractions. Oprah re-assured her audience
that "everyone was doing fine". It was the first time Julia's talked about
carrying a boy and a girl and revealed she felt like she was showing off and
that she had no idea twins run in her family until her mum told her: "My mom
was the knower of all things but the teller of few." "When I said 'I have
great news, I'm going to have a
baby.
Actually, we're going to have two babies, ma'." "She said 'Well of course you
are, we have twins in our family'. I said, 'I'm 36, you tell me now'." "I feel
like it's classic overachieving. I see some lovely woman walking down the
street pregnant with one child and I think, 'What's the point, go for two!'."
Corrie's Dev
on his own bargain hunt?
There's stories in the tabloids
today that Jimmi Harkishin (Dev from 'Coronation Street') was
arrested in a shop. It's claimed he was swapping price labels on items of
clothing to make them cheaper. A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: "Police were
alerted mid-afternoon to a store at Brent Cross where a man was being held by
security staff." "Police attended and arrested a 45-year-old man on
suspicion of theft by deception. He was later cautioned and released."
However, we've spoken to the Corrie producers this morning and they say that
Jimmi "emphatically denies the story". Samuel L. Jackson's been
talking about his role in one of the years most anticipated movies 'The
Incredibles'. It's the latest computer animation by Pixar, and
critics are saying it's even better than both 'Toy Story' films and 'Finding
Nemo'.

The
story is about a family of undercover superheroes who are forced into action
to save the world while trying to live the quiet suburban life. Samuel
L. plays Frozone, the bloke that freezes everything and says he was really
chuffed with the role - here's why: "It's not often that I have an
opportunity to even play a guy who's heroic. "I've read comic books most
of my life. The opportunity to play some sort of superhero, even if he is
retired but has amazing powers, is an amazing opportunity for me." It was also
the premiere of what could be the biggest film of the year - 'The
Incredibles'. It was a great family event. There were people dressed up as
the characters on the red carpet and lots of celebrity mums and dads were
there including Damon Albarn, Danny from Supergrass and
Christian Slater were all spotted. Samuel L. Jackson looked as cool as
ever in shades, a black jacket, and a baseball cap. The animated adventure is
about a family of superheroes who're called into action to save the world. Sam
plays the icy character Frozone: "Frozone happens to be Mr Incredible's best
friend from the old days. He and Mr Incredible hang out. They kind of sneak
out late at night and still do superhero stuff." "I love his look, they showed
me the dolls and all those things before the animation was done. So I was
happy with how he turned out." We asked if he preferred being a superhero or a
Jedi: "You know being a Jedi's kind of special. It's kind of hard getting away
from that. This is something that's just kind of starting and hopefully it
will catch on." "I will always be proud to be a Jedi, and a Jedi
master." All the cast have got their own action figures - Holly Hunter plays
Elastigirl - but says she hasn't got a hold of her's yet: "I'm very much
looking forward to it. I understand that she moves, she twists, she does
various things." "Maybe I'll be bestowing her on friends this year." Kings
of Leon admit listening to their debut album can make them cringe a bit.
Their follow up, 'Aha Shake Heartbreak', looks like its heading for the top
five this weekend. The first album 'Youth and Young Manhood' went into the
charts at number three, though singer Caleb reckons sometimes he feels
like he can't even listen to it anymore: "Youth and Young Manhood' makes me
laugh a lot, there are certain things on there that I can't believe we did it
the way we did it. We did it that way because we were ********s you know." "We
really wanted to spit in the face of a lot of people, you know. But this album
I think that you can see how much more comfortable we are." "We're not
scared to go for anything. If we want to sound pretty then we're going to
sound pretty. If we want to do the same old thing, then we can still do it."
Franz
Ferdinand reckon we'll hear a new side to them
in 2005. The lads are releasing 'This Fire' for download only in a couple of
weeks time but they've already started on the the follow up to their Mercury
prize winning debut. They're touring in Germany, Japan and the States
before 2 massive homecoming shows in Glasgow. They played some of the
new songs recently including 'Your Diary' and 'Scotland', but guitarist Nick
told us to expect a completely different sound in the New Year: "There's
one called 'Can't Stop Feeling' that we've been recording. We wrote it when we
wrote the other album. You know it could be a bit old fashioned." "It would be
good to have something really fresh, you know. That's our plan." "We've just
written one that's coming along quite nicely. I reckon that could be the one.
We haven't got a name for it. The one that goes, dur dur dur, dee dee, dur dur
dur!"
